Kunstraum Bacchanal

Kunstraum Bacchanal, a carnival celebrating wildness, intervenes into Whitecross Street Party’s 10th celebration this Saturday and Sunday. Artists are producing floats and performances which join up as a carnival procession from 2pm daily through the festival crowds, accompanied by a small army of costumed performers. Kunstraum’s Bacchanal, meaning a wild and drunken celebration, aims to recall the festivals grassroots and anarchic spirit.

Spoken Word Stage

A programme of poetry and non-conformist spoken word performed by:

​

SATURDAY Sally Rush, Leah Cadogan, Hannah Raymond Cox and Remi Graves with the Metropolitan Brass Band and Joel from the Children’s Library. 

​

SUNDAY: Victoria Adukwei Bulley, Phobe Stuckes, Olutotun John Showemimo and Sally Rush.

​

Hosted by Paul Lyalls and located at the foot of Whitecross Street. 

​

Sponsored by local churches Wesley’s Chapel and Leysian Mission, St Giles, St. Mary Moorfields and St. Joseph.

Solution Sound

​

The WXSP are delighted to welcome back the Solution Sound Reggae Stage to the 10th Party Celebrations located back in Garrett Street.

Family Activities

Culture Mile Family Room

A mix of craft activities suitable for children led by the City of London Culture Mile Team. 

​

Toffee Park Den Building

Build a den fun for children (sorry dads & mums). 

​

Joel Tells a Story (12.45pm Sat)

From The Children’s Library Joel has quite a following amongst children. He’ll be reading on the Saturday on the Spoken Word Stage at the foot of Whitecross Street. 

​

Metropolitan Brass Band (1.45pm & 3.45pm Sat)

The band will preform twice at 1.45pm and 3.45pm on the Saturday at the foot of Whitecross Street. 

​

St Lukes Vegetable Crafts (Sunday Only)

Come create some funny and fascinating items of our fruit and vegetables located near Waitrose. 

​

Active Space

Test your strength with our team of fitness instructors from the IronMonger Row Baths at the top of Whitecross Street. 

​

Large Party Letters

Add your own colour to our 6ft party letters. Both our WXSP and YMCA letters will be located on the street ready for your to scribble on. 

​

Community Art 

You can also join in the painting fun trying out spray painting yourself or contributing to our community art painting installation. 

​

Market Stalls

Browse our collection of 50 craft and food stalls or buy prints and posters from our Art Stall right up the centre of Whitecross Street.
